Renovations at my new studio

It’s been a long time coming, but wow I’m so excited! This September I decided to open my own Bridal fitting shop and sewing studio. After commuting 1 hour a day for the last 7 years I found a great little spot minutes from my home. It’s going to be fantastic to be closer my family during bridal season. Less time driving means more Mom time and resting, which allows me to give the best of myself to my family and all of my brides!

Demolition Begins

At the end of October we started the demolition of the inside of the building. It was completely gutted.

The old flooring had some really old carpet that was glued to the concrete. My wonderful husband ripped it out and then had to remove the glue from the floor (a super messy process). He also got up and tore down the original grid ceiling so I can have all 12’ for my space. The amount of support he gives me blows my mind away. 

There have of course been some hiccups with the holidays and permits (why do things take forever again?), but everything has finally gone through and drywall is almost all the way up. Today they started mudding and taping. I cannot wait to see how everything looks with completed walls; who knew they would be so important?!
